This policy explains how the Association World Cup Veysonnaz processes your data when you visit this website, contact us or subscribe to our communications. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data controller and contact details
The Association World Cup Veysonnaz is responsible for the data processing described in this policy.
For any questions or requests concerning your data, please write to info@worldcupveysonnaz.com.
2. Website visits and contact enquiries
Visiting the website involves processing technical data needed for its operation and security, including your IP address, information sent by your browser, the resources requested, and the date and time of requests. This information is used to display pages, diagnose incidents and prevent abuse.
When you contact us, we use the contact details and information you provide to respond to your enquiry and follow up on it. Please only send information that is necessary for your enquiry.
We do not sell or rent your personal data.
3. Competition updates and newsletter
You can request updates about a competition and, separately, choose to subscribe to the general newsletter. Subscribing to one communication does not automatically subscribe you to the others.
We use your email address, your first name if you provide it, your language and your selected subscriptions. We also retain the information needed to document your subscription: the confirmation date, the source of the request and the version of the text you accepted.
Your subscription requires confirmation. After you submit a request, you receive an email containing a link valid for 24 hours. You must open this link and confirm your choices on the page displayed to activate a new subscription. If you did not request this subscription, you can ignore the message.
Email delivery and the management of contacts and subscriber lists are handled by Mailjet, a service of the Sinch group. The data needed for these operations is shared with Mailjet. Open and click tracking are disabled for the subscription confirmation email.
You can unsubscribe using the link provided in the communications you receive, or contact us at the address above. Unsubscribing stops the relevant communications; it does not necessarily result in the immediate deletion of information needed to respect your opt-out or document an earlier subscription.
Rejecting optional cookies does not block forms or subscriptions to communications.
4. Cookies and privacy choices
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Pressidium Cookie Consent, integrated into this website, allows you to accept all categories, customize your choices or reject the optional categories.
- Necessary: these support the website’s operation and security and remember your choices. They remain active.
- Analytics: this category covers cookies used to measure website traffic and usage.
- Preferences: this category covers remembering optional preferences to personalize your experience.
- Advertising: this category covers advertising storage, the use of data for advertising purposes and ad personalization.
Optional categories are disabled by default. Google Analytics 4 is used through Google Tag Manager to measure page views and campaigns on worldcupveysonnaz.com. Event and user data retention is set to fourteen months.
Google’s advanced consent mode is used: before you make a choice or if you reject cookies, Google may receive cookieless measurement signals, including the consent state and information about the page visited. Analytics cookies are permitted only after you agree and are removed when you withdraw consent. No advertising pixel is currently enabled. We do not send form field contents to Analytics.
Your choice is saved in the pressidium_cookie_consent cookie for 182 days. It contains your selected categories, the dates of your choices, a consent identifier, the preferences version and the relevant hostname. It does not contain your email address. The cookie is limited to the host that saved it.
You can change your mind at any time: click the small cookie icon at the bottom of the page, labelled “Manage my cookies”, then save your new choices. You may be asked again after the cookie expires or is deleted, or when a change in how cookies are used requires a new choice.
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser. Blocking necessary cookies may disrupt some website features. Withdrawing consent applies to future processing; it does not automatically erase data that has already been processed.
5. Service providers and external services
Providers responsible for hosting, technical maintenance and sending communications may process the data needed to deliver their services. Mailjet handles the emails and subscriptions described in section 3.
Mailjet states that it hosts its service data in data centres located in Germany and Belgium. This information concerns the hosting described by Mailjet and does not guarantee the location of all processing associated with this website. Further information is available in its security and privacy documentation.
The website includes links to external services, including social networks, sports information and ticketing services. When you follow such a link, the relevant service processes your visit data under its own policy. An external link does not mean that we automatically share your newsletter subscription with that service.
Data may also be disclosed where required by law or by a valid request from a competent authority.
6. Retention periods
- Cookie choices: 182 days in your browser, unless you delete the cookie earlier or renew your choice.
- Unconfirmed subscription request: the link expires after 24 hours. The temporary request is then deleted during the website’s automatic cleanup.
- Transfer of a confirmed subscription: temporary contact details held by the website are erased after successful transfer to Mailjet. In the event of a persistent failure, the confirmed request is deleted during automatic cleanup after seven days.
- Subscriptions and consent information held by Mailjet: these are retained to manage your chosen communications and follow-up. Information needed to respect an unsubscribe request or document consent may remain after communications have stopped. You can ask us to erase your data, subject to legitimate grounds or obligations that justify retaining it.
- Contact enquiries: information is retained while your enquiry is being handled and followed up, and subsequently for as long as retention remains necessary, including in connection with a legal obligation or dispute.
- Technical data: retention depends on the operational, diagnostic and security needs of the relevant service.
7. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures intended to limit unauthorised access, loss and misuse. Access to data is restricted to the people and providers who need it for their work. However, no electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be entirely risk-free.
8. Event images
The website publishes photographs and videos relating to competitions and event activities. If you are identifiable in any content and would like to ask a question or request its removal, please contact us and identify the relevant page and content. We will review your request and the applicable rights.
9. Your rights
Subject to the conditions set out in applicable law, you may request access to your data, its correction or erasure, object to certain processing and, where the conditions are met, obtain a copy or transfer of your data. Where the GDPR applies, you may also request restriction of processing in the circumstances it provides for.
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it for the future. For cookies, use the icon at the bottom of the page; for communications, use the unsubscribe link or contact us.
Please send your requests to info@worldcupveysonnaz.com. We may ask for the information necessary to verify your identity and locate the relevant data.
You may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). Where the GDPR applies, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy is updated when our services or data processing change. The date of the latest update appears at the top of the page.
